How Black People See White Culture

What if all world cultures became integrated into one culture, would that be boring? Is that what the internet is doing(at least for the people who use it)? Or will they always exist separately but still interact with one another? I suppose this is the difference between the ‘melting pot’ and the ‘salad’. Would a salad taste the same if you put it in a blender and drank it? Or do you like eating a bite with lettuce and a carrot and then the next a cucumber and celery stalk? Different people are cool, I think I want them to do what they want, as long as it doesn’t inhibit others from doing what they want.

But is there a limit to the things we can do before we start affecting everyone? Or possibly everything we do affects someone. Is there poverty only because there are wealthy people? Can everybody be as wealthy in material things as they want? I guess i’m not quite sure, but it seems like there would be a limit to these things. Not everybody can have a ferrari simply because there aren’t enough materials. This is probably a stupid question because not everyone wants a ferrari and lots of people probably just want dinner. Does the progress of the civilized world inhibit the progress of undeveloped nations? Should we slow down to allow others to catch up? Do we keep going to save more in the long run?

I’ve been trying not to think about it too much, but i really like the fact that in central Illinois I can eat delicious thai curry one night, fajitas the next, then roasted chicken with vegetables and shitake mushrooms, then salmon, then salami sandwiches everyday. These are good things, and I should just be thankful I can afford delicious and healthy meals. I try to eat them guilt free.
